NO MORE LOVE
Do not look for this one in the BBC Sessions 2 CD-Set. The original recording could not be found in the archives.
But the song has survived through a BBC Transcription Disc in August 1966: it was part of the “Top Of The Pops” Show #91.
A very strong Howard Blaikley composition from Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich’s first LP, which could have been used as a single.
And it was! But it was released one year earlier, by an unknown singer named Peter Anathan, who stood little chance of crashing the Top 40.
The BBC take is slightly faster than the original “exciting rocker” (so the NME) that was cut in the Philips studio.
