A-1: Mr. President (Davies/Dymond/Amey)

When I grow up to be a man
I won’t lie for you
I won’t die for you
‘Cos I think you’re wrong
Mister President

You’ve got to get yourself together
You ask me if I’ll be your friend
I can’t tell you right now
I might be making a vow
And I could be wrong,

I’ve got to get myself together

Du du du du du etc.

When I grow up to be a man
I won’t lie for you
I won’t die for you
‘Cos I think you’re wrong
Mister President

You’ve got to get yourself together

Du du du du du etc.

A-2: Too Much (John Dymond)
Lyrics:
How did you get to where you are
Now that you’ve become a star?
Did you climb the slippery stair?
Or did a record put you there?
You’re too much
I can look but cannot touch !

You try to be a teenage queen
But like the sunlight cannot be
So if I say these words to you today
Tomorrow you will hear them anyway

You’re too much
I can look but cannot touch

Du-du-du-du-du

You’re not the party girl I used to know
You know you’re not
Time has changed all that
Come on come on come on home to me
One day You’ll be on your own
You’re too much
I can look but cannot touch!

A-3: She Was A Raver (Davies/Dymond)
Lyrics:
She was a city lover went from one room to another, night or day
She drove a brand new car bought her paper by a star who had to pay
Clients by the score and every time you look there’s more
She’s a raver

She bought the finest clothes but everybody knows that those she never wears
She was a love machine where every man had been
Body everywhere; people turn, stop and stare she didn’t care
She’s a raver

Now she’s getting older and her body’s getting colder day by day
Noone wants to know of the raver long ago who’s turning grey
Now she sits alone and is dying on her own
She was a raver

A-4: Mystery Rider (Ian Amey)
Lyrics
Mystery Rider going places
Sees this world with half-closed eyes
Mystery Rider scorns new faces
Laughs at life through his disguise
Searching now for new dimensions
Fantasies beyond the skies

Travelling now takes in all the scenes
Life to him, one big dream
Blue fields grin with saphire glow
And paper trees wave a sad hello

Moving faster in the night now
Fighting dark to reach the stars
Rainbow people sunlight faces
Mystic shapes that crowd his mind

Caressing stars feel the powers of night
Too late now, no turning back
Feel the whirlpools drown your mind
Land unknown to another kind

B-1: World (Trevor Davies)
Lyrics:

Young man very angry
Old man very sad
The world is not together
Everything’s gone bad
Crazy world that’s not in time
It’s madness and it’s sin
Oh what a miserable world we’re living in

Super plastic moon man
A robot in disguise
He goed where God will send
And nothing is denied
Master of the universe
But knows not where he’s been
What a fantasy world he’s living in

Look at the man with the foolish grin
Look at the man

If I could find the answer
A story I would tell
I’d  be a man of meaning
I know I’d learn it well
A cast of thousands would be there
To realise my dream
Then what a beautiful world
We’d been living in
Then what a beautiful world
We’d been living in
Oh what a beautiful world
We’d been living in

B-2: Rain (John Dymond)
Lyrics:
I’m sitting in the rain
There’s no-one to see me
with my head down
Why should I worry
I’m happy when the sun shines too
The rain is passing by
To make way for bright and sunny weather
I’m in no hurry
I’ll sit here till the sun shines

I’m getting very high
The clouds are forming pictures of me
Like a reflection
I see it in two different ways

B-3: Soukie (Trevor Davies)
Lyrics:

Soukie will you dance will you dance with me
We can come together artistically
Love in rythm to the beat of the drum
Pretty little lady of the Rising Sun
Oh Soukie Oh Soukie

Soukie very beautiful queen of them all
Looking like a picture in a stately hall
Got a lot of everything that’s for sure
That doesn’t matter to her at all
Oh Soukie Oh Soukie

You think you know
But you don’t know at all
She’s looking for someone
Oh Soukie Oh Soukie

She lives in a castle home
Has a Porsche car in her villa in Rome
Private airplane and a yacht
She doesn’t care about the things she’s got
Oh Soukie Oh Soukie

B-4: Leader Of A Rock ‘n Roll Band (Davies/Dymond)
Lyrics:
Working all night on a one-night stand, I’m a leader of a Rock’n Roll band
leader of a Rock’n Roll band, leader of a Rock’n Roll band.
Worn out sweat it’s so bad to forget the people by the end of the night
everything is going allright, everything is going allright
Playing our music just as hard as we can, I’m a leader of a Rock ‘n Roll band, Oh wat a life it’s just grand, leader of a Rock’n Roll band.
Take a girl for a ride if I get her outside she’ll be waiting when I get back again. If I can make it under the strain, if I can make it under the strain
Playing our music just as hard as we can, I’m a leader of a Rock ‘n Roll band, Oh wat a life it’s just grand, leader of a Rock’n Roll band.
Leader of a Rock’n Roll band.
Ah ah ah ah

B-5: Buttercup Joe (Trevor Davies)
Lyrics:
(Coughs)
Oh don’t she make those dumplings nice
Oh me I mean to try ‘em
And ask her if she’d like to wed a country folk like i am
I can pull a plow or milk a cow
I can reap or mow
I’m as happy as a daisy, that grows in the field and they call me:
Buttercup Joe

On the internet we find the original (we think) of this verse:
Now do I be a very young country boy
My father came from Fareham.
He had another six just like I;
By Christ, how he could rare ‘em.
Now, do my mum make dumplings nice
I bet you’d like to try ‘em.
I’ve yet to find me a better one,
A country boy like I am.
Chorus:
For I can drive a plow and milk a cow;
I can reap and mow.
I’m as fresh as a daisy that grows in the field,
And they calls I “Buttercup Joe.”
2. Now there be a pretty girl that I love,
They calls her “our Mary.”
She works busy as a bumblebee
Down in old Jones’s dairy.
Now work and cook and irk and sew
And use the smoothing iron,
And I’m gonna take her for a wife,
A country boy like I am.
Chorus:

3. Now we’re gonna buy us our own barn
When I put by some money.
We’ll put the bees in sacks of corn;
They can make us bread and honey.
And I’ll have hops in every field
And a big oast-house to dry ‘em.
I’ll brew the best ale in the land,
A country boy like I am.
Chorus:
4. Now Mary, her was family,
And I will not propose it.
She’s got one of them on the way,
And I don’t think that she knows it.
So we’ll get married in yonder church
Before it’s lambing time,
And settle down to raise some girls
And country boys like I am.
